I have come a long way.

Sunday’s are one of my favorite days. I get to go on a long run. I wake up early and head out the door. It’s a little chilly, it’s quiet, and I am all alone. I don’t get to run outside during the week. I have to get up too early for work, so it’s just me and my treadmill. When I run on the treadmill, I listen to music, and watch T.V. When I run outside I listen to an audiobook. Right now I am listening to Jane Eyre.

Running is a huge calorie burner too. I burned 913 calories this morning. That’s insane!

This morning I ran 8 miles. There are 27 days until race day. I am feeling confident and very excited. This is something I have never done before. I was NOT athletic in high school. I hated sports and never thought twice about running. I have come so far! This sounds really corny, but when I finish a long run, I almost feel like crying. Just proud of my self. That’s all.

I got to wear my new shirt today too.

I had to order it. I have been following Hal Higdon’s training plan for months and it was a little reward for myself for coming so far.
